Intriguing
I played this game for quite a while, just to see if I would be able to figure out the optimal solution, but I don't think you put one in, did you? Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, there's always a setback or a restart (and yes, I'm being deliberately vague, as I don't want to spoil the game for others). It is incredibly thought provoking, and I liked the simple style, it allowed you to get your point across without being too graphically intensive. I do have to agree with some others that have said that perhaps it could be made larger. I really would be interested in seeing a sequel made, if you ever got a wild hare to do it. I know you said it's for a school project, but if you wanted to experiment around with it, I would be interested in seeing what else you'd come up with. I'm going to resommend this for the "Gadgets" collection, because I think it'd be cool to see it there.
